701 Warren Wilson Rd, Swannanoa, NC 28778 (Google Map)

We are meeting at Warren Wilson College, a private school that sits 2,280 feet above sea level on the scenic slopes of the Great Craggy Range, looking onto the valleys and hills of the Swannanoa Mountains.

Warren Wilson College is about 10 miles east of Asheville, often called the San Francisco of the South. Downtown Asheville boasts of art deco architecture, colorful street performers, vibrant art galleries, quirky museums and eclectic shops and restaurants. A myriad of cultures and people of every persuasion thrives in western North Carolina. Join in Asheville’s very popular Drum Circle in Pritchard Park or take a spin on the Pubcycle. Restaurants have everything from traditional BBQ, with the distinct vinegar WNC sauce, to international and especially farm-to-table cuisine. Art and science museums, theaters and many music venues, all in walkable distances among Asheville’s well kept historic architecture. And craft breweries! Asheville seemed to start the trend back in the mid-nineties and is thought to have more breweries per capita than any other city in the United States.

The Asheville Regional Airport will be the point of entry for those flying in. A 35-minute cab ride or shuttle will take you from south of Asheville and past downtown, then east into the Swannanoa Valley.

Warren Wilson Campus is a bit isolated in a beautiful rural landscape, so those flying in will need to rent a car if they really want to be off campus outside the conference venues. We will have everything we basically need on campus, just be aware that there aren’t any shops or restaurants in walking distance, so plan accordingly.
